Young bands will compete to win the Lee County Arts Council’s “Battle of the Bands,” set for 5:30 p.m. Friday at the Lee County Arts & Community Center, 507 N. Steele St.

Annie Blegen is a part of the Lee County Arts Council’s “Creative Crew,” which she said was put together “to be a conduit between the community and the arts.”

“We go out and find out what kind of things interest our community and try to make those things happen through the use of art,” she said. “This battle of the bands is a fun, artistic, family-friendly event created to bring our community together and create an outlet for artistic and musical expression.”

The roster of competing bands is as follows: Ronnie’s Band, 3D Monkey and Broken Arrow Unplugged. Locals Brick City South and Nakia Latrelle & Track VII will also perform.

Other attractions include a food truck from San Felipe Mexican Restaurant, various raffles, and face painting.

$10 advance tickets are available at the Lee County Arts Council’s office, 144 S. Steele St., G-Force Kenpo Karate, 223 Carthage St., or Buchanan’s Music, 2845 Industrial Drive. Same day tickets will also be available. $5 tickets are available for kids, military and students.
