Two more suspects in the August 2017 murder of Brennan McNeil were arrested on Friday, The Rant has learned. Both suspects played football at Shaw University in recent years.

Brothers Andrew Leron Cash, 24, and Aubrey Jamal Cash, 22, each face charges of murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, kidnapping and conspiracy to commit robbery, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. Both men are listed as living on CL&P Access Road in Semora, North Carolina.

Rayshaad Smith of Durham was arrested on the same charges on Wednesday.

McNeil, 23, was killed in his home in the Deep River area in August of 2017. The sheriff’s office had offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. The Sanford Herald reported Thursday that the reward would go uncollected.

Andrew and Aubrey Cash both played football at Shaw University in 2015 (Andrew also played in 2016 and 2017). Andrew played linebacker, recording 53 tackles for the Bears in his senior season. Both attended Person County High School.

Andrew and Aubrey Cash were jailed without bond.
