After standing empty for nearly a year, the old Sagebrush building on Dalrymple Street appears to be getting a new tenant that looks similar to the last one.
A permit on file with the Sanford/Lee County Planning Department indicates that a Dodge City Steakhouse will soon occupy the building. Dodge City Steakhouse appears to be a small chain, with other locations in Elkin and Wilkesboro.
According to the permit, William Hodge is the owner. Hodge, who also owns several Coach’s locations, including the one in Sanford, couldn’t be reached Thursday to say what the timeline for opening looks like. But part of the menu for Dodge City Steakhouse is attached to the permit application, so here’s a sneak peek:
Interesting, never heard of them and being born and raised in Dodge City we will see how the steaks are compared to the real thing.
Steakhouse? I only see burgers/sandwiches 🤔 I guess I will continue going out of town for a REAL steak..
The menu is NOT impressing at all.
It says “part of the menu.”
Thank you
It’s just 1 of 3 da.
GM Rant, I live across the street from the Kiwanis children’s park with tennis courts and I see officials over there I’m wondering if you have any information on what they may be planning for the area, As we are new to Sanford and we enjoy that park a lot

Went to the dodge city in Asheboro tonite. Was hoping for a good meal, worse steak than Golden Corral. Waited 20 min before waitress took our order. In this time frame the manager walked by three times without acknowledging us or helping out his staff. 40 min later our order came out but was given to wrong table so had to be remade. We got extra bread and 9 min later the steaks arrived without any manager showing up. Not all bad , the bread and potatoes were hot and good. But not enough to try again. Was hoping that Asheboro was getting a decent steak house at decent price.
