A fourteenth COVID death has been reported in Lee County, according to a press release from county government.
Information about the person was not disclosed to protect the family’s privacy.
“This morning’s announcement is a sad reminder of the importance of maintaining preventative habits to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Lee County,” said Lee County Health Director Heath Cain. “We offer sincere condolences to the family and friends of the individual who has passed away and ask that you keep all of them in your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.”
As of Monday – when the county releases updated COVID numbers – new cases appeared to have stabilized for the time being with around 40 new cases each week, although other metrics like percent positive rate, active cases and daily rolling average were trending downward.
The state’s COVID dashboard as of noon on Thursday 26 new cases in Lee County since Monday.
