A driver in a white SUV crashed through the fence surrounding the Sanford Elks Lodge pool Friday afternoon and landed on its side.

The wreck occurred around 5:45 p.m.

The driver was taken away by EMS and Sanford firefighters and his condition was not immediately known. It didn’t appear anyone else was hurt.
