The first of what will surely be several restaurant and retail chains to announce intentions to build in west Sanford following the recent announcement of the potential redevelopment of Riverbirch Corner — which will likely include a Target store — came this week with Cicis Pizza issuing a press release Thursday saying it has a signed agreement for a new location in Sanford.
The national pizza chain — known for its all-you-can-eat buffet — said it will build a single-unit location (its 14th in North Carolina) at 814 Spring Lane, near Lowes Foods. The address suggests it will not be in the same building that currently houses Starbucks and Wing Stop and would be a new building.
The restaurant will be owned and operated by Sapana Patel, alongside business partners Prince Patel and Siva Rao Ramireddy.
“Cicis has always been a place that brings families together, and that’s what drew me in,” said Patel. “I’m confident the Sanford community will connect with the same family-friendly, affordable experience that makes Cicis so special.”
