One of Sanford’s oldest businesses is calling it quits after 59 years of selling home improvement and building materials.
Lee Builder Mart, located at 1000 N. Horner Boulevard in Sanford, sent out a letter to its customers last week announcing the closing and a wall-to-wall “retirement sale” on all merchandise.
“We are closing our doors forever,” the letter reads. “All of our merchandise, store fixtures, furniture and equipment must be sold.”
The business’ most loyal customers received the letter, inviting them to be the first to take advantage of the liquidation sale. Only customers with the mailed invitation will have the first opportunity on current inventory, according to the letter, beginning May 8.
