The Rant has been mighty respectable with its U.S. Open coverage, but we’ve forgotten to mention that if you’re a golf nut, you can still see the fun up close.
The American Red Cross is seeking volunteers to staff three concession areas serving foot and beverages through June 22. Two shifts are available each day (5:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and 12:30 to 8 p.m.).
Help the Red Cross continue to be there for Lee County – from home fires to tornadoes – providing disaster relief and lifesaving blood.
Benefits to volunteering include access to the golf venue and activities, free parking and shuttle into the resort, and a meal for your scheduled shift.
Volunteers must be 18 or older. Register or find out more at: RedCross.org/usopenvolunteers
Thanks for the shout out for the American Red Cross! I’ve worked two shifts for them at the Open, and plan to work at least one more next week. Yes, you’re way overqualified for concessions stand work, but so is everyone working alongside you. So much fun!
