Two men turned themselves in to the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday and were charged with killing and cutting the heads off of four puppies in Broadway, the Dunn Daily Record reported.

Joshua Godwin, 24, of Cary and Hunter Parker, 22, of Lillington where officially charged with cruelty to animals. According to the The Daily Record, the alleged incident occurred on Big Oak Lane, located just south of U.S. 421 near Mamers. According to the sheriff’s office, the men “killed several puppies by shooting them and decapitating them while they were still alive.”

The incident was discovered by the sheriff’s office in Moore County when a lost phone was found at Sandhills Community College. In an attempt to identify the phone’s owner, deputies found a video of the killings.

Godwin is listed online as a student at Wake Tech Community College and past student of Sandhills. Parker is a 2014 graduate of North Carolina State University.
