When we reported that you can vote for Kiwanis Park in an online contest which could result in the park getting $25,000 worth of new playground equipment, only 10 people had done so.

Less than 48 hours later, there’s good news and bad news. Well, not bad news really. Just good news and other news. Whatever. Here it is.

As of this writing, 458 people have voted for Kiwanis Park in Sanford. Great job, gang! That’s good for 13th place, which may sound weak, but that’s out of 50 entries, and you only have to be in the top 10 to be considered for the prize. So go vote again! You can do it here, and you can do it once every 24 hours through May 31.

Give us 200 votes today and we move up five spots, comfortably inside the top 10. If everybody who voted already votes again, we’d be in third place.

Waynesville, North Carolina’s Kiwanis Park currently leads the pack with an impressive tally of more than 2,000 votes.

Come on, people!
