For those of you who didn’t get your fireworks fill last night or last weekend, the Ammons Farm Annual 4th of July Celebration will be held this Saturday in the field beside Sanford Health and Rehab at 2702 Farrell Road in Sanford.
With Independence Day falling on a crummy Wednesday this year, fireworks providers had three choices this year β the Saturday before (which fell in June, which is blasphemy), Wednesday night (which ended up bringing a nice thunderstorm to Lee County last night) or this coming Saturday. Ammons β the county’s largest July 4th fireworks display β chose the latter.
The annual event has drawn thousands in the past decade. In addition to the show, the free event (donations gladly accepted at the gate, with proceeds going to the Lee Christian Booster Club) features live music and snow cone and ice cream trucks.
More information can be found at the event’s Facebook page. Click below for video from last year’s show.
