A bid listing on a public website indicates that a Harbor Freight Tools store may soon be built on the south side of Sanford.
The plans, which appear to have been bid on July 11, call for a discount tool retailer to be built on N.C. 87 south near the Ruby Tuesday restaurant and Lidl grocery store. The Rant was unable to find any construction permits having been issued for the address, and the listed architect directed inquiries to a real estate broker who didn’t return a call seeking comment.
In any case, the addition of a Harbor Freight would continue the commercial growth the area has experienced in recent years. According to the California company’s Wikipedia page, it operates more than 800 stores in 47 states. Several of those stores are in North Carolina, including in Raleigh, Fayetteville, Durham, Asheboro, and Burlington.

That’s sweet
