UNC’s new head football coach Mack Brown popped in at Lee County High School today, according to a Facebook post from Sheriff Tracy Carter:

Brown is likely in town on a recruiting trip. The biggest catch in Sanford is the Jackets’ Defensive End Desmond Evans, a junior who holds offers from all the big schools in the state as well as a young upstart team called the University of Alabama.

We’ll all probably hear a lot more from Evans in the next year, and see a lot more college coaches in town. He currently ranks as the #4 weak-side defensive end in the country in the Class of 2020, drawing comparisons to Houston Texan Jadeveon Clowney. And he’s just a junior in high school.

Mack Brown was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame last week, just days after taking over as the Tar Heels’ head coach once again. He won a national championship at Texas in 2005.
