Every Friday since mid-2018, the Rant has featured a dish that stands out among Lee County’s restaurant scene. We’ve mostly focused on lunch, but we didn’t set any rules – we just wanted to let you know (if you don’t already) about the many dining options we have that are owned and operated by people right here in Lee County. We hope we’ve been able to introduce you to at least a new dish or two, and if you’ve missed any along the way, click here for a list of everything we’ve featured. We hope to continue this feature in 2019, but most likely on a scaled back basis. We definitely haven’t covered every mom and pop restaurant in Sanford, but we’ve put a big dent in the list.
We’re doing something a little different for the final entry in this series – instead of featuring a single restaurant, we gathered tacos from taquerias (as well as some places offering more “Americanized” fare) around Sanford, sampled the wares and did our best to rank them. Spoiler alert, nobody’s a loser in this competition.
As a bonus, you’ll also get a brief interview with David McComas of Hugger Mugger Brewing, who graciously allowed us to film this silly video in their establishment. Thanks to David and Tim for that.
Now, watch and laugh – at us or with us, either is fine.
