After a one day closure caused by a computer virus, the Spring Lane Cinemas movie theater in Sanford has again announced it will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday, with a re-opening scheduled for Friday, March 1.
A sign on the door at the multiplex on Wednesday morning assures customers not to worry, “as our closing is not permanent” and says “we sincerely appreciate your patronage and look forward to seeing you later on this week.”
It’s unclear if the new closure is related to last week’s ransomware attack (theater Manager Jared Campbell told the Rant on Monday that even though the establishment had reopened, IT specialists were still fighting the virus), or parent company Frank Theaters’ ongoing bankruptcy proceeding, or neither, or both.
