City police are investigating a triple shooting that left two people hospitalized – including one in critical condition – on Tuesday evening.
According to a press release from the Sanford Police Department, 16-year-old Kaniyah Wooten, 19-year-old Jacquan Burroughs, and 20-year-old Ishois Times were each shot as they stood outside a home at 1004 Hall Street around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Hall Street is between Rose and Makepeace streets in a neighborhood off Woodland Avenue near the Lee County Courthouse.
Officers said the victims drove themselves to the emergency room at Central Carolina Hospital, after which each was transported to UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. Wooten was reportedly struck in the leg and released after receiving treatment. Times was shot in the legs and lower body and is listed in stable condition, while Burroughs was struck in the leg, lower body and torso and is listed in critical condition.
No other information was available Wednesday morning.
