As part of our upcoming feature on Sanford’s rapidly expanding brewery scene (check back in the coming days), Wild Dogs Brewing owner Craig Krause allowed The Rant to stop in Sunday afternoon for a look at the progress he and his team have made in the two storefronts he’s renovating for use as a brewery and a taproom:

Krause told The Rant that he and his partners were nearing completion on the demolition side of things and had recently won approval from the city’s Historic Preservation Commission to move forward with new construction at 136 and 138 North Steele Street. Back in August, when we featured news of Krause’s project, he said Wild Dogs would focus on traditional, German-style beers such as pilsners. Krause said he and his team hope to be open in early 2020, and that once open, they hope to begin looking at options such as a rooftop bar with a garden area as part of a two-to-five year plan.
