Lee County sheriff’s deputies arrested a man Wednesday night after he held his girlfriend and two of her family members at gunpoint.
Steven Grant Carter, 49, of 440 John Garner Road faces multiple counts of second degree kidnapping, communicating threats and assault by pointing a gun. According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, deputies responded to a home at 15 Red Tip Lane in southern Lee County around 6 p.m. Wednesday, where Carter was allegedly holding the victims hostage.
When deputies arrived, however, Carter released the victims and surrendered himself without further incident. He was taken to the Lee County Jail, where he is in custody without bond.
