Lee County sheriff’s deputies arrested two men on Christmas night after allegedly finding them in possession of a pound of marijuana.
Rahyeem Devonne Patterson and Charles Alton Patterson Jr. each face charges of possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, maintaining a vehicle to store and sell a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, drug agents with the department found a pound of marijuana in a vehicle Rahyeem Patterson was driving around 11 p.m. on Dec. 25. Deputies had initially stopped the vehicle, in which Charles Patterson Jr. was also riding, in the parking lot of the Walmart on N.C. Highway 87 after allegedly noticing the vehicle’s tag was fictitious. After initiating conversation with the two men, deputies said they noticed an open container of alcohol and smelled marijuana. Later, drug agents arrived and found the marijuana, according to the press release.
Rahyeem Patterson and Charles Patterson Jr. were each placed in the Lee County Jail under $15,000 secured bond.
