A permit on file with the Sanford/Lee County Planning Department indicates that a vacant bank building at 803 Spring Lane is set to reopen as a Walgreens.
According to the permit, improvements to the building include adding a pharmacy section, redoing the parking lot, replacing exterior lights. The permit states that “all work will be within an existing building shell,” so it doesn’t appear that the 3,003 square foot building – which is smaller than a typical Walgreens – will be expanded upon.
Work appears to be under way at the building. It’s unknown when the store will open, and whether the Walgreens location at the nearby Riverbirch Corner shopping center will remain there.
Absolutely fantastic news!
