Narcotics agents with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a South Plank Road man on Wednesday evening after finding him allegedly in possession of almost 400 dosage units of various prescription medications, a large number of Suboxone strips and a handgun.
Larry Carson Harrell, 51, of 4129 South Plank Road faces charges of trafficking opium by possession, trafficking opium by transportation, possession with intent to sell and deliver a schedule III narcotic, possession with intent to sell and deliver a schedule IV narcotic, maintaining a vehicle for the illegal storage and sales of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a firearm by convicted felon.
Agents made the arrest “while following up on numerous complaints of drug activity” taking place in the parking lot of the Food Lion on U.S. 1 in Tramway, according to a press release from the department. Harrell was reported in possession of 395 dosage units of prescription medications including Hydrocodone and Alprazolam, 43 Suboxone strips, a small amount of marijuana, and a Ruger model LCP 380 handgun.
Harrell was placed in the Lee County Jail under $350,000 secured bond.
