High Cotton Couture will become downtown Sanford’s newest retailer on Friday, owners Maggie and Luke Cranford announced today.

“The historic downtown area is a vibrant part of the Sanford community that has become a hub for local retailers and establishments,” the couple said in a press release announcing the opening. “[We] anticipate being part of this mission and goal for the Sanford community and look forward to investing in a community that has invested so much in us and has been a wonderful place to live and now raise a family.”

Maggie Cranford said she hopes High Cotton Couture will be “a positive place that helps women build confidence, find pieces that express who they are, and think outside the box.”

She also stated that she hopes the shop will be a place for women to gather and to have fun, because “dressing up doesn’t have to stop when you grow up.”

The shop is located at 115 South Steele Street and will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. It will carry a “wide variety of sizes in women’s clothing, shoes and accessories, and offer high-quality unique items that will dress up any occasion.”

A grand opening event is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday. There will be door prizes and other giveaways throughout the day as all are invited.
