A six month investigation by the Sanford Police Department’s Tactical Narcotics Team ended on Sept. 10 with the seizure of more than a pound of methamphetamine and three arrests, according to a press release issued Wednesday.

Antonio Salgado-Renteria, 36, of 2417 Shawnee Circle, Juan Avila, 48, of 5125 Laurel Ridge, and Anthony Andre Galarza-Gocicochea, 18, of 2021 Lee Avenue were all arrested after police seized a total of 600 grams, or about 1.3 pounds, of methamphetamine.

Renteria faces 12 counts of trafficking methamphetamine and one count of conspiring to traffic methamphetamine and was placed in the Lee County Jail under $500,000 secured bond.

Avila faces three counts of trafficking methamphetamine and one count of conspiring to traffic methamphetamine and was placed in the Lee County Jail under $100,000 secured bond.

Gocicochea was charged with two counts of trafficking methamphetamine and one count of conspiring to traffic methamphetamine and was placed in the Lee County Jail under $100,000 secured bond.
