Lee County government reported 218 new COVID-19 cases since last Monday, bringing the total number of residents who have tested positive to 3,401.
The Health Department continues to monitor 820 of those individuals, the highest number reported since the beginning of the pandemic, and an increase of more than 200 since last week’s report. 2,542 people have recovered, and 39 have died.
Identifying information about patients isn’t disclosed, but the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services COVID dashboard does have some demographic information. According to the dashboard, the rolling seven day average for new cases increased from 34 last Monday to 37.14 today, while the percent positive rate increased from 12.8 to 13.5 percent in the same time period.
