Two suspects, including a 15 year old and a Winston Salem man, are in custody after Sanford Police stopped a break in in progress at Kendale Pawn over the weekend.
Christopher Isaac Johnson-Moore, 19, of Winston Salem, and the unnamed 15 year old face charges of felony breaking and entering, felony larceny, and felony possession of stolen goods. The juvenile also faces a charge of possession of a firearm by a minor.
Johnson-Moore and the juvenile were arrested after city officers received a call around 3:30 a.m. Sunday to Kendale Pawn at 2715 Lee Avenue and found a vehicle backed through the front of the business. Johnson-Moore, the juvenile, and a third suspect were allegedly stealing guns and other merchandise when police arrived, and immediately fled on foot. Johnson-Moore and the juvenile were apprehended following a short foot pursuit.
Offices reported finding 48 guns worth more than $38,000 and other merchandise inside a second car the suspects left at the scene.
Johnson-Moore was placed in the Lee County Jail without bond. The 15 year old was taken to a juvenile detention facility.
Officers are working to identify the third suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sanford Police Department at (919) 777-1051.
