A Lee County man has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of his nephew, sheriff’s deputies said Sunday.
Timothy Allen Honea, 53, of 1389 Womack Lake Circle faces a single count of murder. According to deputies, they responded early Sunday morning to the home on Womack Lake Circle, between Sanford and Broadway off Avent’s Ferry Road, and found 37-year-old Tony Randall Luellen of Newport News, Va. with a shotgun wound to the stomach.
Honea is Luellen’s uncle, deputies said.
Family members at the scene told officers that Honea had shot Luellen after an argument over “an intoxicated family member and about Luellen staying over night at the house,” according to a press release. Honea was located at a neighboring house.
Honea is in the Lee County Jail without bond.
