B.T. Bullock Elementary School is accepting donations for a mother and her two young daughters — one of them a second-grader at the school — who lost everything in a fire at their home on Hearthstone Drive Monday morning.
Bullock teachers and staff will be collecting money and donations at the school on Tuesday — according to Principal Stefanie Clarke, money will be collected until 2 p.m. so the family can receive immediate help. Clothing (girls’ sizes 7-8 and adult large sizes) will also be accepted.
According to WWGP’s Margaret Murchison, the fire broke out at 2129 Hearthstone Drive (off of Burns Drive, less than a mile from Bullock) at the home of Nikki Emerson. Emerson and her two daughters were able to escape without injury. According to Murchison, firefighters at the scene said few items in the home were salvageable.
Emerson is a daycare teacher at Small Hands Big Future Childcare in Sanford, which is also accepting food, clothing and gift cards for the family at 1112 Broadway Road.
