Documents on file with the Sanford-Lee County Planning Department show plans for a coffee shop, a restaurant and a general retail space to be constructed in an outparcel at the Spring Lane Galleria.
While the documents don’t specifically list tenants for the three spaces, the title of the plans is “Starbucks Retail at Spring Lane Galleria.”
The plans show the outparcel in the southeastern portion of the shopping center currently anchored by Lowe’s Foods, up the hill from the grocery store and opposite the Walgreen’s pharmacy.
It’s unclear what businesses are being proposed for the other spaces, but we’ve heard at least one rumor. An email to the architecture firm shown on the plans, Peadon Finein of Charlotte, was not returned as of Thursday. We’ll update when we get more details about the project, including tenants and a timeline for construction.
It is very exciting to see additional development, investment, and economic confidence in the north end of town and specifically Spring Lane Galleria.
Hopefully this type of investment will also have a positive effect on continued investment in River Birch and Spring Lane Cinemas, which are both just down the road, and the North Horner & Highway 1 interchange.

Please let Barberitos be true! It’s like Moe’s or Chipotle but BETTER! My wife and I go to the one in High Point when we visit my parents in Winston. We have nothing like that here. The last time we ate there, we were talking about it would be great if one ever came to Sanford.
We both could probably keep a Barberitos in business by ourselves at Spring Lane Galleria!
Well, there goes the neighborhood. If it’s not the inconsiderate winos at Lowe’s Food, it’ll be the Karens at Starbucks.
Im wondering if they are going to allow another Healthy Feet to come to Sanford?
