Two men are in custody after a shooting outside a home on North Horner Boulevard on Tuesday afternoon, according to Sanford police.
Officers responded around 4:45 p.m. to 401 N. Horner Blvd. and found Wilson Brown in his vehicle with a gunshot wound to the leg. He reported having been sitting in his car when he was shot.
According to police, two suspects were seen in another vehicle shortly after the call. The driver, police said, refused to stop and the suspects were pursued into Harnett County, where they finally stopped without incident on McArthur Road near Seminole.
The passenger, 20-year-old Esdras Hernandez Cruz, of Raymack Road in Lillington, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and shooting into an occupied vehicle. The driver, 20-year-old Macolm McDonald, of Bracken Street in Sanford, was charged with fleeing to elude law enforcement, failure to heed blue lights and siren, and a count of accessory after the fact to a felony.

Esdras was placed in the Lee County Jail under $100,000 secured bond; McDonald received $40,000 secured bond.
Brown was taken to UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, where he was treated and released.
David- I can’t wait to leave this slum town. “Well centered”?…no…no it’s not.
Bye
Hate to break it to ya bud, but this sort of thing is going on in other towns, in other counties; across the country.. Sanford ain’t special. I remember so many years ago, being woken up in the middle of the night in the middle of little ol’ Elkton, Maryland–to a gang of 20 people beating the crap out of one guy, with bats and chains.
I see these two thugs made bail. Must be drug money cause the one boy works at Walmart and I know he didn’t use Walmart pay to bail himself out.
