Triad Waste, a Sanford-based roll off container company has been purchased by Meridian Waste, a Charlotte-based integrated, non-hazardous solid waste company. The move, which was paired with Meridian’s purchase of Goldston-based Pinnacle Waste, was announced Tuesday.

The closings were effective March 1. Meridian will operate its new hauling company including the Chatham C&D Waste & Recycling transfer station from the former Pinnacle location at 13415 U.S. 421 in Goldston. The frontload and roll-off trucks including container assets acquired from Triad will be relocated to the Goldston hauling facility. Operational and office staff members have transitioned to Meridian Waste. The combined service area from the two acquisitions include Chatham, Lee, Harnett, Moore, and Orange counties.

“North Carolina has proven to be a great state for Meridian Waste to grow and prosper,” said Meridian CEO Walter “Wally” Hall. “The Pinnacle and Triad Waste acquisitions are our most recent examples of North Carolina opportunities that have allowed Meridian Waste to benefit from the assimilated companies’ solid base of business built and serviced by incredibly committed employees.”
