Sanford boil water advisory lifted

A boil water advisory for Sanford water customers issued on Monday has been lifted, effective immediately.

City of Sanford officials said Tuesday afternoon that samples drawn throughout the water distribution system determined there was no bacterial contamination to the water supply and that normal usage can resume immediately.

Customers may experience periodic events of discolored water. Those noticing discolored water should run  water for two to three minutes. If discoloration is still present, contact Sanford’s Public Works Service Center at (919) 775-8247, or (919) 775-8268 after 5 p.m.
