Lee County Schools and Central Carolina Academy in Sanford have both announced that Tuesday, January 9 will be a remote learning day due to the threat of inclement weather.

Citing the threat of “winds over 45 mph as well as several inches of rain,” Lee County Schools Public Information Officer James Alverson said Tuesday would be a remote learning day for students and that teachers have provided assignments for students to complete while home. Alverson said both the North Carolina Public Transportation System and the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles recommended against school buses operating in the projected weather.
