
A 19-year-old is in custody facing murder charges after a shooting Saturday night left another man dead, according to Sanford police.
Officers responded to 800 Primrose Lane around 9:40 p.m. Saturday after reports of a shooting. That’s where they found 20 year old Tyrese Marquel Wicker on the porch of the home. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, officers arrested Jackson Brown Chesney, 19, of Pinehurst Street in Sanford on charges of murder. He was placed in the Lee County Jail without bond.
Sanford police didn’t say what led them to Chesney or release any other information.

We moved here 3.5 years ago and love this city. This isn’t our reality. Most of Sanford isn’t like this. We came from the Seattle area and love it here. It’s a culture problem all over the country with shooting. This isn’t a Sanford problem. Choose value of life.
