A Sanford man was found guilty of sex crimes against a child last month in Mebane.
The News of Orange reported on July 31 that John Barnhart, 56, was convicted July 29 in Alamance County Superior Court of taking indecent liberties with a child and sentenced to six months in prison. Upon release, he will be required to register as a sex offender for 30 years and undergo 36 months of mental evaluation and supervised probation.
The conviction stems from a July 2021 arrest by the Mebane Police Department.
At the time of the arrest, Barnhart was, according to the News of Orange report, facing multiple charges of assault on a female and sexual battery stemming from a 2018 arrest. He was acquitted of those charges in December of 2021. The report details a history of similar charges going back more than 20 years:
Barnhart’s past record includes multiple charges of Lewd or Lascivious Molestation in 2000, and a conviction of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor in 2002, all in the state of Florida. He was sentenced to probation. In 2004, Barnhart was found guilty of violating state probation.
In Mebane, Barnhart was a real estate agent and active in business and community groups, including involvement with the Interact Club at Eastern Alamance High School. He now resides in Lee County.
It’s unclear how long Barnhart has lived in Lee County. According to voter and GIS records, he registered to vote here in 2022, and purchased a home on Pioneer Drive in 2023.

This nation never has cared..I was an orphan adopted by a family who passed me off from one deviant to another to another..It did not matter who I told, it was (my word against theirs) he said and they said..As such, adults were believed over kids..When I got older and came out of the USMC (honorable discharge), I looked this perverted human waste up, and beat the hell out of each one..Enough so, that they were all hospitalized for several days..You know what this nation didT they sent me to amental institution for the criminally insane, due to the violence I used against these perverted pieces of crap..It was alright for the deviants to repeatedly rape and molest me year after year after year, but, it was wrong in the eyes of this nation to get retribution..After observation and evaulation I came out of that institution with a wonderfully clean bill of mental and emotional health..Never believe or trust any figure of authority in this nation..They are pathological liars who pretend to care, yet do NOT stop what is happening..It is thheir job security to allow it to go on..The more harm perverts do, the more people of law can justify their jobs and keep them..Victims are expendable..The more victims, the more job security… It is a never ending circle of low IQ levels at work as they lead our society..But what is even more obscene and heartbreaking than that, are the low IQ’s of the voters – they keep electing and putting these idiots back in power, over and over and over and over..Take as example the approval of a drug rehab center..Those who abuse their bodies time and time again – no matter how many times cured, they contine the same cycle of abuse with their death wish..Yet, the so called ludicrous people in power, chose garbage to spend dollars on, yet turn their backs on decent, hard working and honest people who are destitute, and DO NOT abuse their bodies..If that isn’t the lowest of low in pathetic reasoning, then it is beyond my comprehension..I’m cursed with a 190 IQ and it is always just one insanity after another after another (take a look at the streets of San Francisco and other cities).. This is why I am stopping looking at or reading any news but the Rant…………At least here, the sickness of low IQ’s at work, is limited to a very small area!!!!!

If you doubt my words above, look at the number of years where this piece of human filth has been allowed to run rampant and make victim after victim after victim suffer (and like I said, the law could care less and that is why he repeatedly got back on the streets – the more he victimized, the more job security for the law and those in it)…….If he ever comes near me, he’ll never see another court date….I do not and will never approve of human filth like this walking the streets….
He was acquitted twice becausethere was no evidence . The DA had time to refine his argument. In this country, there is supposed to be no double jeopardy. Shameful.
