A train passing through Depot Park struck a pedestrian just before noon Wednesday, causing a rush of emergency personnel to the area.
The woman, who was walking her dog in the area, did not suffer life threatening injuries but was transported by EMS to UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill for medical treatment, according to Sanford police.

City government made a social media post about the train being stopped, but didn’t reference the struck pedestrian.

Nobody cares about the status of the pedestrian. How’d the dog?
Shame on you. You can be an animal lover and value human lives as well.
Did it jump off the tracks and hit her? If you look down, you sort of know right where the train is going to go.
Was she on the tracks when she got hit?
The train did not derail; yes she was on the tracks! Lol
Glad she survived and is back with her pup.
What stupid, unnecessary questions
