Organizers have called off the fall 2025 edition of Carolina Indie Fest, citing the threat of rain for the free, outdoor two day music festival.
“It’s disappointing but we could not host an outdoors festival in this weather,” said organizer Tim Emmert, one of the owners of Hugger Mugger Brewing in downtown Sanford. “We’ve been fortunate to have fantastic weather for 7 out of 8 Carolina Indie Fests to date. Eventually the odds were going to catch up to us.”
Hugger Mugger has already refunded VIP tickets that were purchased online, and noted that those who purchased VIP tickets in person can bring in their receipt for a refund.
Sponsors and vendors who invested in the festival will have their investments honored at the spring 2026 Carolina Indie Fest on May 15 and 16. Each of the performers for this year has been offered a spot on one of the 2026 festivals.
Emmert said Hugger Mugger will still be open this weekend, with a food truck rodeo happening Friday and Saturday.
