Voters in Sanford and Broadway will go to the polls on Tuesday to decide who will help lead their towns for the next four years.

Although most of the Sanford contests feature just one name on the ballot, there is a contested race in each of the municipalities in which any registered voter can participate.

In Sanford, Democrat Linda Rhodes faces a challenge from Republican Louis Williams for one of the city council’s two at large seats. Read answers from the candidates to questions about their campaigns here. Rhodes was first elected in 2022.

Incumbent Democratic Ward 1 Councilman Mark Akinosho is also uncontested. In Ward 3, Chris Petty defeated J.D. Williams in the Democratic primary and faces no Republican opposition.

Early voting for the 2025 cycle ended on Saturday. Sanford had 828 early voters, while Broadway had 47.
