The Sanford Herald’s new editor will come to us from Iowa.

381166_293008737410873_933690673_nThomas Jensen —a digital marketing manager and PR guy for an electric supply company in Dubuque, Iowa, and former communications specialist in higher education — will succeed R.V. Hight as editor, according to a source. Jensen is a 15-year veteran of the newspaper industry, most recently the assistant city editor for the Telegraph Herald (daily circulation 63,800) in Dubuque from 2002 to 2007. He was managing editor for the Fergus Falls Daily Journal in Minnesota from 2001 to 2003 and senior editor for the West Fargo Pioneer from 1995 to 2001.

Jensen is a 1992 graduate of Minnesota State University who earned his Master’s in communications from the University of Dubuque in 2013.

No official announcement has been made, and it is unknown when the new editor will start.
