Sanford police are investigating the shootings of two men at the Tiki Lounge in downtown Jonesboro, according to a press release from the department.

Officers responded to the Tiki Lounge in the early morning hours of Friday, July 31 after receiving a report that shots had been fired in the area, and found Elijio Lasandrus Hooker, 37, had been shot.

After transporting Hooker to the Central Carolina Hospital emergency room, officers met with 30-year-old Gregory Jackson Clark, who was also at the emergency room and said he had also been shot “during the same incident.”

As of Monday, police reported that both Hooker and Clark were listed in stable condition at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. The department did not provide any further information.

WWGP Radio’s Maragret Murchison first reported the shootings on Monday morning.

Following the shooting, a post on the bar’s Facebook page advertising an event the following night at the club warned “Absolutely No Drama And If You Bring It You’ll Be Turnt (sic) Away.”

More than 600 users have “liked” the page, and several reviews posted to it are favorable, including one which notes that the staff “can mix the hell out sum dranks lol.

UPDATE: An earlier version of this story incorrectly reported that the shooting happened in the early morning hours of Saturday, and that music for the event was provided by a DJ who was not present at the time of the shooting. The Rant regrets the error.
