The campaign for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has reportedly reserved the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center in Sanford for an event either Monday or Tuesday, sources confirmed with The Rant today. The event would come on the heels of Monday night’s first televised debate between Trump and Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.

It has not been released whether Trump himself, his running mate Mike Pence or somebody else associated with the campaign will appear in Sanford on Sept. 26 or 27, but Trump has made several stops in the Tar Heel State in the past month. He was in High Point Tuesday to talk terrorism, and he’ll be in nearby Virginia on Saturday, according to the Trump campaign website.

The “events” page for the Civic Center has yet to include the event as of Thursday.

North Carolina will be a hotbed of presidential political activity in the coming weeks. Clinton holds a narrow lead on Trump in North Carolina, according to a New York Times Upshot/Siena College poll released today.

The Rant will have updates on the Sept. 26 or 27 event as more news is made available. We have also set a personal record for most words written about Trump without a trace of buffoonery. It’s a big, beautiful record that everybody loves. It’s the very best record, we guarantee that. You’re gonna love it, believe us.
