Sanford police are seeking a suspect in an Oct. 21 Matthews Street shooting, according to a press release from the department.
Officers hold active warrants on 21-year-old Denise Magdalena Pascual of 112 Jackson Street in Sanford on charges of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and discharging a weapon into occupied property. The charges apparently stem from a shooting that occurred on Oct. 21 at 501 Matthews St. in east Sanford.
According to an Oct. 22 report in The Sanford Herald (subscription required), city officers responded to the Matthews Street address just after 5 p.m. the day prior and found an unidentified 38-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The Herald’s story indicated that a drive-by shooting had been reported at the same time and location, and that the victim was conscious at the time. Neighbors said they heard eight gunshots, The Herald reported.
Anyone with information on Pascual’s location is asked to contact the Sanford Police Department at (919) 777-1051.
