A second person in Lee County has tested positive for the coronavirus, according to an announcement made Thursday by the county Health Department.
The Health Department received notification of the positive result on Thursday. No further information about the patient will be shared.
Lee County’s first case was confirmed on March 20, and each of Lee’s surrounding counties – Chatham, Harnett and Moore – have reported multiple cases as well. As of Tuesday, Lee County had tested 12 people and had results outstanding for four of those. It was immediately unclear what that total stands at as of Thursday morning.
The first confirmed case came from a private provider. It’s unknown how many private tests have been administered since those are only required to be disclosed if they come back positive.
Here it comes!
