Lee County confirmed its fifth Coronavirus case on Friday, according to a press release.

Lee County Government (LCG) Health Department has confirmed a fifth resident has tested positive for COVID-19. The Health Department received notification of the positive test result this morning, Friday, April 10, 2020. To maintain patient privacy, no additional information about the individual will be shared by the LCG Health Department.
The Health Department will complete the contact tracing process and notify any individuals identified as having had close contact with the patient; the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) defines close contact as an individual who has been within six feet of the patient for ten (10) minutes or more.
County residents that test positive for COVID-19 will be monitored by the Health Department until recovered. Of the five cases confirmed in Lee County, one individual is recovered and has resumed normal activities and four cases continue to be monitored by the Health Department. At this time, there have been no deaths reported in Lee County attributed to COVID-19.
County residents are reminded to continue following the guidelines and recommendations provided by the CDC to help prevent and slow the spread of Coronavirus in the community. This includes updated recommendations that individuals should wear a face mask or cloth face covering when out in public. Individuals should also remember to clean and disinfect surfaces frequently, wash hands frequently, avoid touching your face with your hands, and maintain safe social distancing protocols of six feet or more when outside of your home.
Individuals that are not feeling well are urged to stay home and away from others.
