Lee County government announced Monday afternoon that the case count for confirmed Coronavirus infections has jumped to 14. It had stood at 12 at the start of the day.
It was the fourth consecutive day in which the county Health Department announced multiple cases of COVID-19, with two on Friday, three on Saturday and three on Sunday. One patient has recovered and resumed normal activity, while the rest were under observation. There have been no deaths reported in Lee County.
Patient information is not released in accordance with federal health privacy laws. People who have come into contact with infected individuals will be contacted by the Health Department via the tracing process.
On Monday, Sanford Mayor Chet Mann said retail establishments not operating within the bounds of Governor Roy Cooper’s new executive order on social distancing could be arrested and that people should stay at home as much as possible. He followed up later with a Facebook video to the same effect:
