The Lee County Health Department announced Sunday afternoon that four new cases of the Coronavirus have been identified locally, bringing the county’s total to 37.
Of those, seven have recovered and resumed normal activity. The department does not release the names or any identifying details of individuals who have tested positive. People who have come in contact with infected individuals will be contacted by the department through a tracing process.
Sunday’s four new cases were the second most identified in a single day, behind the nine announced on Friday. Lee County had four confirmed cases on April 10; multiple new cases have been announced each day since. There have been no deaths reported in Lee County.
The Health Department’s press release stressed that the Coronavirus is widespread in the community and that residents should remain at home when possible to avoid potential exposure. If residents have essential activities outside of the home, they should remember to follow the guidelines of the CDC and practice safe social distancing, which is remaining at least six feet or more away from others, wearing a face mask and gloves, washing hands frequently, avoid touching their face, and cleaning/disinfecting frequently used surfaces thoroughly.
Someone needs to shut down Lowes Home Improvement it they won’t follow the law!! I stopped by around 2 today and the parking lot was full to the road and they were all inside. The garden center has ppl in line not 6 ft apart. Only saw 4 ppl with masks. You have to go in the front door and go all the way through the store and be around everybody to get to the garden center. I turned around and left.
