Twenty one new COVID-19 cases have been identified in Lee County since Saturday, bringing the total number of people who have tested positive to 596.

The Lee County Health Department made the announcement Monday afternoon, the same day as it reported a sixth COVID-related death locally. Eight of the new cases were identified Saturday, two on Sunday and 11 on Monday.

The number of patients who had recovered remained at 416 on Monday.

The county only discloses demographic information – age range and gender – of those who have tested positive. The information is reported on a 24 hour delay, so the 11 new cases announced Monday are not included below.

But of the 585 cases reported through Sunday, 53 percent were female and 47 percent were male. There were 114 cases in people under 24, 230 between 25 and 44, 195 between 45 and 64, and 46 who were 65 or older.
