Sanford police are searching for at least one suspect in the Wednesday shooting death of a 20 year old.

Officers responded around 12:10 p.m. on Wednesday to 502 Pineland St. and found Wendell Hill suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to Central Carolina Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police provided no other details other than to say that anyone with information should call the department at (919) 777-1051. But Margaret Murchison of Sanford’s WWGP Radio shared some details Wednesday afternoon that The Rant was unable to independently verify as of Wednesday evening:

 

According to MaxPreps.com, a site that tracks high school athletes, Hill played football for the Southern Lee High School Cavaliers, graduating in 2018.
