A Spring Lake woman is facing death by motor vehicle charges after allegedly causing a wreck Saturday on the U.S. 421 bypass that left two people dead.
Sanford police have charged Ivory June Adajar, 38, of Spring Lake with two counts of misdemeanor death by motor vehicle, as well as careless and reckless driving, driving while license revoked, expired registration, and a safe movement violation.
Officers said Adajar was heading south on the bypass around 6:30 p.m. Saturday when she swerved into the path of another vehicle driven by 60-year-old Lloyd Atkins in an attempt to take the Broadway Road exit off the highway.
A resulting collision forced Atkins’ vehicle off the road, where it rolled over. Atkins and a passenger, 33-year-old Kimberly Atkins, both died at the scene. Three other passengers were injured, including one who was taken to UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill with critical injuries. Two others have since been released from the hospital.
Adajar was placed in the Lee County Jail under $50,000 secured bond.

Such a f****** deadbeat!! All these charges plus taking the lives of 3 innocent people!! Does everybody know why she took the Broadway exit without looking for traffic around her?? How fast was she going? Was she trying to catch somebody?? Why didn’t she have license? Careless and Reckless? Expired Registration? No licenses? SMH!!! She was attempting to make a different vehicle crash. When that vehicle started to exit the interstate she swerved and caused Atkins’ vehicle to crash.
I hear she gave 5 alias’s she will never be seen again if she gets out. She killed a good man and part of his family

I used to live in Sanford, I’m out west now. Does anyone know if this woman is Hispanic or Filipino? The behavior here sounds a lot like these illegal Hispanics that Governor Cooper imports by the truck load. It doesn’t sound like a Filipino an all, they respect our country and laws (as well as most Filipinos are here legally). More Americans are killed each year by illegal Hispanics than died on 9/11 and our State and Federal government covers up the truth. If Adajar is an illegal Hispanic, there will be political pressure to release her on bail. Then she will never be seen in North Carolina again. She will likely go to another State with a large illegal Hispanic population and kill again.

There has been more mass shootings in the US that have killed innocent people and it has been done by mostly white people. Why dont you argue about that? Stop making things about race! We are all human’s. There are good and bad people in every race. Why dont you talk about that specific person and what was done due to their poor choices, instead of assuming they are a bad person just because of their race.
