A third person in a vehicle that was run off the U.S. 421 bypass on Saturday night has died, The Rant has learned.

Judy Atkins, 58, had initially been taken to UNC Hospital in critical condition after an accident that happened when Ivory Adajar tried to take the Broadway Road exit off the bypass and struck a vehicle operated by Lloyd Atkins, causing Atkins’ vehicle to go off the road and roll over. Lloyd Atkins, 60, and Kimberly Atkins, 33, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities hadn’t confirmed Judy Atkins’ death as of Tuesday afternoon, but an online obituary for the family posted Tuesday indicates that she has now passed. Two other people in the vehicle, including a young child, survived.

As of Monday, Adajar faced two counts of misdemeanor death by motor vehicle, among other charges. She remains in the Lee County Jail under $50,000 secured bond.
