
Drug agents with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a local man earlier in August after seizing multiple pounds of heroin and cocaine during the execution of a search warrant.
Javier Gomez Segura, 41, faces charges of trafficking heroin/fentanyl, trafficking cocaine by possession, and maintaining a dwelling to sell drugs. According to the sheriff’s office, agents executed a search warrant at Segura’s Register Street home around 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 11 and found 680 grams (about 1.5 pounds) of heroin and 1,000 grams of cocaine, or about 2.2 pounds.
During the search, Segura was allegedly found hiding in the home’s attic. The drugs in question were reportedly located in air conditioning ducts and underneath insulation in the attic.
Segura was placed in the Lee County Jail under $300,000 secured bond.
